Troop 1021 embarked on its first field trip on September 20, 2014, to visit Sierra Industries, an aircraft modification and repair facility located in Uvalde, Texas, about 90 miles west of San Antonio. Fifteen Scouts and adults enjoyed the two-hour tour. The highlights of the day were the boys getting to go inside of private jet aircraft and touring the Sierra Warbird hangar where they got to see, touch, and even climb on a number of  vintage and historical aircraft.
